Reality Deviant operates mostly out of a sense of duty to the general public. Their main focus is to allow humanity to progress forward, and protect the world from the bad behavior of a select few. To that end, they can be found infiltrating shadow organizations, bringing corrupt politicians and business leaders to heel, and generally attempting to exercise control over chaos. Their origins are within the Chinese Triads, but the exact history of this organization is muddled due to the chaos of World War 1 and poor records-keeping. The first digital records of this organization in the mid-80s referred to them as an already well-established group. The majority of their work involves infiltrating and gaining control of existing groups and organizations, and compelling them to act in ways that are more in line with the faction’s goals than the original group’s.

The organization as a whole is well-funded, with a great deal of investment in technology companies. Funds that aren’t used by the faction are re-invested into shares of companies or into other financial investments such as bonds or loans to banks. The exact number of members is unknown, but it’s estimated to be around 500 individuals or more.

Agents are organized into cells, each with a cell leader. One Senior Agent may oversee several cells, and report on their progress to the faction leadership. Each cell is given a distinct goal, and may leverage new recruits or enlist the help of other faction members to achieve that goal. Members of a cell typically all work in the same location, and coordinate via dedicated encrypted channels. If a single cell fails in its operations, they are sufficiently isolated from the rest of the faction to prevent that one cell from compromising the entirety of the organization.

Reality Deviant has successfully infiltrated several international law enforcement agencies, which provides them with a fair amount of protection. Because the vast majority of their operations consist of a compromised organization acting on their behalf, they are rarely put in potential danger. The cellular structure of the organization also insulates them against the potential fallout of failed operations.
