Lilin

Lilin is a group of feminist activists with a flair for the occult and unusual. Steadfastly anti-corruption, their attention tends to be drawn by stories of abuse, media manipulation, and overt lying. Trappings of occultism help them to attract similarly minded individuals, and protect them from the scrutiny of the general public. Common targets include large corporations, regimes guilty of human rights violations, and propaganda generators. Lilin’s members are known for embedding themselves in local cultures and communities, making them difficult to spot and nearly impossible to extract without incident.

Low-budget but determined. Some smaller public-facing organisations with mission statements aligned with Lilin’s own moral compass will occasionally provide funding. Apart from those windfalls, most activities are self-funded by private members. Lilin has a modest number of members, distributed across large geographic regions. By leveraging local connections and structures, they’re able to exert a similar level of pressure as a larger faction.

The relative youth and physical dissociation of Lilin makes it hard for them to mobilize quickly and effectively. However, since they tend to be underestimated, they often have the element of surprise on their side in confrontations. The fluid and decentralized nature of the organization makes it hard to track down more than one individual member at a time, and that one member may or may not know anything valuable.

Due to the loose-knit nature of the group in a physical sense, members are expected to be able to handle themselves and protect themselves as necessary. Those who live in jurisdictions where such things are permitted tend to carry firearms or other small weapons, others will protect themselves by ingratiating themselves to local law enforcement or local gangs.
