Magi focuses on targeting cult groups and those who would carry out human experimentation. Their stated goal is to protect humanity from the dark forces at play in the universe. They seek to facilitate the continuation of mankind unimpeded, by unlawful human experiments and exploitation, and go after doctors/scientists who are “playing god.” They are particularly disgruntled by experiments involving human consciousness or emulation of consciousness (such as artificial intelligence).

The faction is very well funded, with an operational budget upwards of 5 Billion annually. The majority of this funding seems to come from stock investments and hedge funds held by members of the faction, with a large percentage of these funds coming directly from their leader and founder. Additionally, some governments will provide funding for the protection they provide. The exact number of members in the faction is unknown, but it’s estimated to be large and well-distributed globally.

Magi operates much like a traditional secret society. They utilize codewords, secret handshakes, and secret meeting places in order to prevent outsiders from becoming aware of their existence. The structure of the group is fairly loose. The faction leader sits at the top of this loose hierarchy, with total authority for actions undertaken and responsibility for failed operations. The rest of the members are typically considered equal. Members are recruited for their unique knowledge and skills as well as their personal traits. Any given member of the Magi could occupy any given role, depending on the demands of the situation.

Each member maintains a cover that is well funded and designed by the faction as a whole. Their meeting locations are well hidden, and require codewords or handshakes to gain access to. Some members also have connections in local governments and police forces to help their operations to go undetected. There are a handful of members who will conduct field operations to dismantle and destroy facilities that are targeted, but this is a rare occurrence.
